PONTOON BOAT RENTALS ON NORRIS LAKE: EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

PONTOON BOAT RENTALS ON NORRIS LAKE: EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

You don't have to be a boat owner to enjoy the relaxing waters and breathtaking views of Norris Lake. Located in Anderson County, both Stardust Marina and Sequoyah Marina rent pontoon boats so you can have a full day of fun on Norris Lake.

First, you'll need to decide on the size of pontoon boat you want to rent on Norris Lake. Boat options include 24 or 25-foot pontoons and party pontoons which include an upper deck and slide. Depending on what size boat you choose, the boats can accommodate groups of 10 to 14 passengers.

Don't worry if you're not experienced with pontoon boats, the staff at Sequoyah Marina and Stardust Marina will help you get familiarized with everything on the boat and make sure you have an unforgettable day on the water.

You can expect to pay anywhere from $250 to $400 to rent a pontoon boat for the entire day on Norris Lake. Pricing varies slightly at each marina and with the different style of boats, so we recommend checking their websites for specific rental prices.

Before you head out onto the lake, it's important to familiarize yourself with the boating rules and regulations on Norris Lake. Make sure you understand no-wake zones and other important safety guidelines. You can find regulations and safety information on the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency website here.

A few things to keep in mind when renting a pontoon boat:

  • You must be 25 years of age and have a boating license. Find more info about getting a license here

  • Life jackets are included for adults only, so plan to bring your own life jackets for children under 13 years of age

  • Children under the age of 12 must wear a life jacket anytime the boat is in motion

  • Pontoons are not supplied with an anchor

  • You will be responsible for all gas used when the boat is returned

  • Be sure to pack a cooler with food and drinks. Even though there are plenty of marinas to grab a bite to eat, it's nice to have the option to eat right on the boat. And, you can never have too many snacks when you're spending the day on the water.

  • Remember to pack sunscreen, towels and any floats or water toys the kids may want

Tip: Norris Lake has over 800 miles of shoreline and hundreds of private coves, so if you're not familiar with the lake, you may want to pick up a lake map to help you navigate the area.

Now that we have the boat rental information out of the way, let us tell you about these marinas!

Sequoyah Marina is known for their Friday theme nights. Every Friday night throughout the summer, Sequoyah chooses a theme and goes all out. Live bands will be playing and the dock will be rocking! Don't worry if you can’t make it on a Friday night, the marina is a fun place to hang out any day of the week and usually has live music throughout the whole weekend.

Stardust Marina is notorious for having a packed dance floor on Saturday nights during 'Sundown Saturdays. 'The marina has live music every Saturday from 6:00-10:00 pm and boats come from near and far to tie up for the fun. We highly recommend having lunch or dinner any night of the week at Stardust. Everything on their menu is incredible. Our suggestion, try the Asian Street Tacos or Bang Bang shrimp.

Overall, renting a pontoon boat on Norris Lake is a fantastic way to enjoy a day out on the water with family and friends. With its beautiful views, clear waters, and range of activities, Norris Lake is a top destination for boating enthusiasts in Tennessee.
