Norris Lake is home to 14 different species of fish, but its best known for bass fishing. Fishing is good year round, but spring time seems to be a favorite among many. Norris Lake has over 800 miles of shoreline, so if you’re not familiar with the lake, we highly recommend using a fishing guide. You can find a list here.
Melton Hill Lake has over 170 miles of shoreline, so there are plenty of places to wet a line, from shore or a boat. Musky, striped bass and crappie seem to be the angler favorites on Melton Hill. Warm water discharged at the Bull Run Steam Plant keeps the area warm throughout the year, extending the growing season for many species. To find out more about fishing on Melton Hill, click here.
