DESCRIPTION:While most Americans celebrate Independence Day with fireworks\, the Museum of Appalachia marks the occasion with an old- fashioned “anvil shoot.” Every 4th of July\, the Museum uses gunpowder to launch a 200-pound anvil hundreds of feet into the air! Anvil shoots were once a common way for pioneers to commemorate holidays\, elections\, and other special occasions. \nThe anvil shoot is the centerpiece of an all-day celebration that includes a national bell-ringing ceremony\, flag procession\, live music\, southern food\, demonstrations from blacksmiths\, beekeepers\, dulcimer makers\, spinners\, weavers\, rail splitters\, and more. \nAnvil shoots will occur at various times throughout the day. \nTickets will are available for purchase at museumofappalachia.org.

SUMMARY:SPRING WILDFLOWER WALK AT NORRIS DAM STATE PARK
DESCRIPTION:Each year nature presents a beautiful display of spring wildflowers. Join Park Rangers and TVA guides\, at the River Bluff Trail head on Saturday\, April 6th at 10:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m. as we hike along the cool Clinch River where guides will acquaint us with the identification\, natural history and the folklore of our spring wildflowers. Hike is moderate in difficulty and will be 3 miles total. Hike will take 2+ hours. Parking is limited at the trailhead so carpooling is encouraged. This is a free event\, but donations and registrations are encouraged. For more information call the park office at 865-425-4500.

Dancing\, acting\, interactive murals\, projects for the kids and more! The street is full of art from each school in Clinton City and Anderson County Schools. A fun run takes place early in the morning with all proceeds going back to our schools and their art programs.

Open to all* Jeep® Brand vehicles – with Trail Rating\, every Jeep® vehicle is engineered to go off road. \nThe Jeep® Adventure Academy will be taught with world class instruction from the experts at Jeep Jamboree – leaders in off road adventure since 1953. \nJeep®4×4 owners will develop skills in areas such as: \n\nTrail etiquette and safety basics\nHow to properly setup your vehicle before venturing off-road\nHow to read terrain and safely attempt obstacles\nProper winching and vehicle recovery techniques\nLocating and connecting with your local Jeep® Brand off-road community\nEliminating the unknown in question & answer sessions with experts\n\nSmall class sizes ensure that every participant will get individual attention and walk away from the day with skills learned from true experts in the field. \nRegistration is for a one-day session and requires Jeep®4×4 ownership.
