Celebrate innovation and history during Nuclear Science Week in Oak Ridge, TN—a week-long series of interactive events highlighting the region’s pivotal role in nuclear science and its future. Held October 21–26, 2024, the celebration invites visitors of all ages to explore hands-on STEM activities, educational exhibits, and career opportunities.

Event Highlights:

  • Monday, Oct. 21: Radiation & Detection Activities at Pellissippi State Community College, featuring interactive experiments and insights from ORNL experts.
  • Tuesday, Oct. 22: STEM Day with ORNL’s Traveling Science Fair, the Atomic Expo at Oak Ridge High School, and a student showcase with a keynote by ORNL Director Dr. Streiffer.
  • Wednesday, Oct. 23: Family-friendly science activities and discounted admission at the American Museum of Science and Energy (AMSE).
  • Thursday, Oct. 24: Nuclear Career & Job Fair at Roane State Community College, featuring local employers, educational institutions, and lab demonstrations.

Join us to “Get to Know Nuclear” through engaging experiences that connect Oak Ridge’s past, present, and future in nuclear science.
