Swing back in time with the Tennis Court Dances at Jackson Square in Oak Ridge. Held on the third Thursday of each month through October, these lively, family-friendly events are a nod to the open-air dances that once brought joy to the 75,000 war workers and their families living in America’s Secret City during the Manhattan Project.
Hosted by Manhattan Project National Historical Park, the dances recreate the spirited atmosphere of 1940s Oak Ridge with authentic swing music that will have you dancing the jitterbug under the stars. Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or just want to enjoy the music and history, everyone is welcome.
Admission is FREE and open to all ages
Don’t forget to bring water, wear comfortable shoes, and apply bug repellent—then hit the court for a night of nostalgia, music, and community fun.
