Norris Dam State Park

The park occupies more than 4,000 acres on the shores of Norris Lake and surrounds Norris Dam. Visitors can enjoy world class hiking and biking trails that offer scenic views, sparkling streams and wildflowers.

The park has deluxe and rustic cabins, two camping areas with a combined 75 camp sites, a full service marina, playgrounds, a laundry mat and a primitive camping which can be reserved for groups.

A park naturalist is on duty throughout the summer months to conduct a variety of planned programs and activities including guided hikes, slide shows and nature programs.

Make sure to stop by the Lenoir Museum and Rice Grist Mill. The Lenoir Museum has a diverse collection of many artifacts which depict life in Southern Appalachia from 12,000 years ago to present day. The Rice Gristmill, originally constructed in 1798 in Union County, was dismantled and rebuilt on Clear Creek in 1935. The Caleb Crosby Threshing Barn was originally built on the Holston River in the 1830s and relocated to its present site in 1978. It displays old farm tools, plows and a horse drawn wagon.
